1,Baby Storytime (10:30am to 11am) @ TCPL, 101 E Green St, Ithaca

 

-Baby Storytime will resume on Fridays, from 10:30 to 11:00 AM in the Library’s Thaler/Howell Programming Room, starting June 14 and running through August 30.

At Baby Storytime, caregivers and babies up to 24 months embrace early literacy through books, music, movement and rhyming. This storytime is followed by an hour-long “Baby & Toddler Playtime”at 11:00 AM.

3, Summer Children’s Art Fun with Stiller Zusman (2pm to 4pm) @ TCPL, 101 E Green St, Ithaca

 

-Tompkins County Public Library is pleased to present Summer Children’s Art Fun with Stiller Zusman. The program will occur Fridays, June 28 through July 26, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in the Library’s Thaler/Howell Programming Room.

Children aged 3 to 6, along with their caregivers, are invited to celebrate summer and create masterpieces at this drop-in program. Stop by anytime to join the fun! This program is part of TCPL’s Summer Adventure for Pre-readers.

4, Try-it Workshop (6:30pm to 8:30pm) @ Clay School Ithaca, 950 Danby Rd, Ste 28, Ithaca

 

-Date night, girls’ night or just not ready to commit to a series of classes. This two hour session will give you a taste of working on the potter’s wheel with no strings attached. This workshop is designed for those interested in a one night experience. If you happen to love the experience and want to commit to a 7-week term, you can apply the cost of the workshop you have taken to a future class.

$44 gets you just the workshop, and if you’d like to keep a piece you make can now buy it through the website or if you’re not sure you will also have the opportunity to buy it in the studio with cash or check for $15. The Clay School cannot accept credit cards in the studio.

-Ithaca, NY- Ithaca Bakery announces today that they will be putting on another fun, engaging, lesson of “The Science of Bread”at the Ithaca Sciencecenter on June 29th 2019 (2pm). The Ithaca Bakery known for servicing the Ithaca area for delicious breads, sandwiches, pastries, wedding cakes and catering steps out to teach the public what makes bread rise.

Travis MacDowell Director of Marketing for Ithaca Bakery and Collegetown Bagels will be presenting with the Head of Pastry Heather Charron. They will be offering insights on what you knead to know about bread.
Yeast, protein, linking gluten molecules, carbon dioxide, and so much more goes into the Ithaca Bakery’s process that has been taking place at the same location for 108 years.

3, Tompkins County Relay for life – carnival of hope (2pm to 10pm) @ Ithaca College Activity & Events center

 

-Cancer patients don’t stop because they’re tired, neither do we. Come walk with us to help signify that cancer never sleeps.

There will be raffles, games, kids activities including a bounce house, a bingo hall and much, much more at our Carnival themed event.

4, Wood and metal workshop makeover (10am to 2pm) @ Ithaca Generator, 116 w green st, Ithaca

 

-New paint to the walls and ceiling and a whole heap of new light. A new bright and light and expanded workshop. The whole basement will soon become Wood and Metal work only. The front room Woodwork and the back room Metal work.
We need volunteers to help move equipment, clean, paint, install lights and then arrange the workshops.

5, International Mud day (1pm to 4pm) @ Ithaca Children;s Garden, 121 turtle lane, Ithaca

-Ithaca Children’s Garden welcomes summer with a mud-riffic day of play in the Hands-on-Nature Anarchy Zone. Mud slides, mud pools, mud pies, mud art = MUD FUN!

ICG’s International Mud Day celebration is free, open to the public, and fun for all ages. Suggested donation of $5-15 per family, but ALL are welcome. Come early and help Ithaca Fire Department flood the Hands-on-Nature Anarchy Zone, and then stay for slipping, sliding, tossing, stirring, building, and painting. Bring a few dollars for snacks, a towel or change of clothes, and a bundle of laughter to enjoy this afternoon of summertime play. It’s a muddy good time!
