3, CUAUV Infirmatuin Session (5pm) @ CUAUV, B62 Upson Hall, Ithaca

-Interested in joining one of Cornell’s foremost student engineering project teams working on some of the most cutting edge autonomous tech? Come check out the Cornell Autonomous Underwater Vehicle Team at our first information sessions of the year:

Monday, September 9th, Hollister 372
Friday, September 13th, Hollister 372

CUAUV designs, builds, programs and tests a completely new autonomous submarine every year to compete in AUVSI’s international RoboSub competition. In August, we ship our sub down to San Diego, drop it in a recomissioned Navy testing pool, press the green button, and cheer it on as it navigates a complicated underwater obstacle course with no human intervention whatsoever: ramming buoys, dropping weighted darts on Space Invader-shaped objects, firing torpedoes through differently colored targets, re-positioning PVC structures and more

We are looking for new members to join our mechanical, electrical, software and business subteams. All are welcome to apply, and no prior experience is necessary! Please visit our website http://cuauv.org/ or reach out to Tal Moriah (tm443@cornell.edu) with any questions. Applications will open shortly!

-A Compelling Broadway Hit by Lucy Kirkwood
Directed by Margarett Perry

Featuring: @Susannah Berryman*, Dean Robinson*, and Jen Johansen*

Hazel and Robin, retired nuclear scientists, have set up camp on the British coast. Though living in the wake of a nuclear disaster, they have found a way to lead a quiet life of yoga and farming. That is, until an old colleague turns up at the door and makes them question their past—and their future. A gripping and thought-provoking story about the messes we make of our lives and our planet, and how we attempt to clean them up. Appropriate for ages 14 and up.

Thank you to Ithaca College, Barry Chester, and Elissa Cogan for sponsoring this performance.

Kids yoga nourishes confidence, compassion, strength, and balance. Our children will learn to shine their inner lights brightly and open their warm hearts! This class offers a way for young people to learn kindness and self-love through yoga, songs, games, stories, and meditation so that they can find their inner strength and peace as they grow. Please come 10 minutes early to give children a chance to settle in.

Taught by Kristina DeCicco, RYT-200. Open Heart Kids Yoga was inspired by my beautiful, sweet, and silly daughter, Sadie. I’ve been engaged in my own yoga practice for over 15 years and it has always helped me gain balance and equanimity in my life. When Sadie turned 3, it occurred to me that yoga could help her navigate her way through the different stresses of growing up and developing into a little person. Being the pro-active Mom that I am, I sought out Little Buddha’s Yoga training and immediately felt that I wanted to spread this knowledge, not only to my own daughter but to other families as well. I truly believe that practicing yoga as a collective will strengthen us as a whole in society. I am a high school teacher by profession and witnessing many of my students struggle with stress, anxiety, depression, etc. made me feel that the decision to branch out and become a kids yoga teacher would give me more tools to enhance their learning as well as my own children. Most recently, I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training at the Yoga Farm to continue my journey as a teacher.
